How long will it take me to pass my driving test?
That's a very good question but hard to give you an amount in hours from start of your training to passing your test.
The reason is not two people are the same.
Example 1 (15 to 25 hours)
never driven before and from first lesson picks up everything straight away and passes first time.
This sounds great but only a small percentage of pupils are like this.
Example 2 (25 to 45 hours)
never driven before and from first lesson learns most things after a couple of times and passes on first attempt. Most people fall into this area.
Example 3 (45 to 60 hours)
never driven before and from day one will struggle but with regular lessons and encouragement will pass first time. Only a small amount of people fall into this area.
Everybody is different.
The DSA states that it will on average take todays pupil about 45 hours of professional driving lessons and 20 hours of lessons in your parents car to reach the standard of driving that is required to pass the test.
